A settled place to live and study
The college maintains separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus boundary, each under a resident warden. Rooms are furnished with a bed, study table, chair, almirah and fan, and are offered on a double or triple sharing basis. Common rooms carry a television and indoor games, and every floor has a water cooler with a purifier.
The mess serves four meals a day on a published weekly menu, prepared in a kitchen inspected monthly by the hostel committee. Students on the mess committee review the menu each term and raise complaints directly with the warden.
What the hostel provides
Rooms
Furnished double and triple sharing rooms, cleaned daily, with attached or floor-shared washrooms.
Mess
Vegetarian mess with a published weekly menu, four meals daily including evening tea.
Security
Round-the-clock guards, biometric entry for the girls’ hostel, CCTV at all entry points and a visitor register.
Study
A dedicated study room open till midnight, Wi-Fi in common areas and power backup on every floor.
Medical
First-aid room, a visiting doctor twice weekly, and transport to hospital in an emergency.
Laundry
Washing area with machines on each floor, and an ironing service at subsidised rates.
Hostel rules
- Entry and exit are recorded in the register; gates close at 8:00 pm, and at 7:00 pm for the girls’ hostel in winter.
- Leave beyond one night requires a written application countersigned by the parent or guardian.
- Ragging in any form leads to immediate expulsion from the hostel and referral to the anti-ragging committee.
- Alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, weapons and electric cooking appliances are strictly prohibited.
- Visitors are received only in the visitors’ room during notified hours, and never in the rooms.
- Damage to hostel property is recovered from the resident concerned.
- Residents must maintain the attendance required for their programme; persistent absence from class is reported to parents.
How to apply
Fill the hostel application form at the time of admission. Seats are limited and allotted on merit in the qualifying examination, with preference to students living far from Patiala and to sportspersons representing the college. Allotment letters are issued with the admission confirmation.
