Dear students, parents and well-wishers,
Every year in July I watch a new batch walk through our gate, and every year the same thing is true: most of them are the first in their family to reach college, and almost all of them arrive unsure of what they are capable of. Our work is to remove that doubt. We do it the slow way — by teaching properly, by knowing our students individually, and by expecting more of them than they expect of themselves.
What we promise is modest and specific. Classes will run on time and the syllabus will be finished. Laboratories and the library will be open and usable. Assessment will be fair, and results will be published without delay. If a student is struggling, a teacher will notice and intervene before the examination, not after it. And in the final year, the placement cell will work with each student who wants a job until they have a fair chance at one.
What we ask in return is equally simple: attend, participate, and take the opportunities the college offers. Join a society. Play a sport. Volunteer with the NSS unit. The degree is the certificate; the confidence and judgement you build here are what actually travel with you.
To parents, I want to say that our door is open. Come and meet your ward’s teachers, ask about attendance and performance, tell us what worries you. A college works best when the family and the faculty are looking in the same direction.
To our alumni, now working across Punjab, India and abroad — thank you for coming back to speak to juniors, for referring students to our placement drives, and for carrying the college’s name with dignity.
